Andrei Sharonov was appointed Managing Director, Head of IB at Troika Dialog Group on July 6, 2009. He joined Troika Dialog as Managing Director in July 2007.

Before joining Troika Dialog, Andrei Sharonov held the position of State Secretary/ Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation. Mr. Sharonov had been working at the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade for 10 years, including 9 years as he was Deputy Minister.

Prior to that, from 1992 through 1996 Andrei Sharonov held the position of Chairman of the Russian Federation Youth Committee. He began his career in Public Administration in 1991 as Chairman of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic State Committee for youth policy and had been people's deputy of the USSR from 1989 through 1991.

Andrei Sharonov is a Member of the Board of Directors of Russian Railways, RusGidro (GidroOGK), Sheremetyevo International Airport and Rosagroleasing. In August 2008 he became a Member of the RF Ministry of economic development Advisory Board for new technology zones. He had been Member of the BOD of RAO UES of Russia, Transneft and Russian Venture Company between 2003 and 2008, OGK-2 and Aeroflot until June 25 and June 20 2008 respectively; a Member of the Board of Directors of Inter RAO UES from June 2008 through October 2008 and a Member of the Board of Directors of FGC UES from June 2008 through December 2008.

Mr. Sharonov is Chairman of the Committee for financial markets and credit organizations under the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
