What has been your career path at Troika?

The choice to work in the financial industry came easily to me. I graduated from the Finance Academy under the Russian Government (Moscow) with honors, hold a master's degree from René Descartes University in Paris, and always thought about a career in this sphere.

I acquired my first experience working on the stock market at the middle-office at BAREP Asset Management (today Societe General Asset Management) (Paris). After that I spent two and a half years as a trader in convertible bonds at BNP Paribas (Paris).

A call from Moscow in 2004 with an alluring offer to work at the Sales Desk led me to Troika to work in FI sales. I became one of two employees in the division, which was only getting started at the time. Six years has elapsed, and the division I oversee now employs 18 individuals located in Almaty, Kiev, London, Moscow and New York. At first we only worked with Russian bonds and Russian clients. Now, however, we are no less active with Ukrainian and Kazakhstani bonds, while our clients are located in Great Britain, Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy, China, Singapore, and elsewhere. We are growing, our knowledge is increasing, and our geography is expanding. Over time, our classical product line was expanded to include currency operations, interest rates and other derivative instruments.
