September 17-20, 2009, Sochi "Russia has several major business events aimed at bringing together representatives of the global economic and investment communities. If the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is a good chance to meet with clients and partners, learn about general economic trends and exchange news from global markets, the Sochi Forum facilitates discussions about particular projects, new investment opportunities and areas in need of investment. Foreign investors – those with experience in Russia and potential investors alike – will have a chance to discuss their experiences and concerns. In addition, the Forum allows lawmakers and state representatives to discuss new initiatives aimed at raising investment attractiveness in Russia, while private businessmen can lobby their projects with investors," said Andrei Sharonov, Managing Director at Troika Dialog Group, describing the International Investment Forum in Sochi. The Forum is principally intended as a gathering of leading businessmen, scholars and politicians with the goal of drafting ambitious investment projects and modernizing Russia's economy through relevant economic thinking. Discussions at this year's Forum will focus on such issues as raising investment attractiveness and strengthening Russia's outside economic positioning, developing Russia's financial sector, integrating Russian businesses into global markets, implementing innovative technologies in conditions of a globalizing economy, private-state partnerships as concerns investment projects in Russia, developing Russia's tourism-recreational complex, possible investments by Russian and foreign companies during preparation for the Winter Olympics in Sochi, and presenting the most important investment projects slated for realization in the Russian Federation. The 2008 Sochi Forum took place under the slogan "Investments – developing Russia's economy." Similar to last year, Troika Dialog will be an active participant during the International Investment Forum Sochi-2009. |
